Although it is possible that you will be attacked , it is extremely improbabale. In fact, chances are that if you run into a bear, the bear will be more afraid of you and go away by itself.
It is more likely that you will die in a car crash on your way to the back woods thatn by being attacked by a bear.
In the Yellowstone National Park in the U.S., statistics show that you are more likely to drown than to be attacked by a bear. In the period between 1839 and 1994, 101 people died from drowning but only 5 people werekillede by grixxly bears.
However, if you are still worried about bear attacks, tehre are several ways to reduce the chances of being attacked by a bear.
Traveling in groups is one way to reduce the chances. Bears are very unlikely to attack groups of four or more people. Also, stay calm if you run into a bear. Bears are much more likely to attack if you try to run away.
